COMMUNICATION

RAIL NETWORK

The rail map shows how the site is accessible by three rail stations: Frodsham, Helsby and Ince. There are frequent and quick services between Manchester and Chester.

 

ROADS

The M56 is located directly through the site providing road access. It connects South Manchester and Chester/North Wales.

There are also local access roads: A5117, B5393 and BS152.

CYCLING AND FOOTPATHS

The site offers several cycling routes and is a close proximity to the Manchester to Liverpool Trans Pennine trail. There are also many footpaths as road access and parking are limited around the salt marshes.

WATER NETWORKS

Four major water networks are located in the site: the Estuary of the River Mersey is located N of the site, the mouth of the River Weaver joins the Mersey estuary NE of the site, the River Gowy runs from S to N through the site also joining the Mersey estuary and the Manchester Ship Canal is located along the banks of the Mersey estuary.

BROADBAND

The overall broadband quality is ranked in the second out of five categories, indicating that the internet speed in the area is relatively good. 66% of households in the area can access superfast broadband,

MOBILE PHONE COVERAGE

The phone coverage in the area is classified as good for calls and texts, the highest category. The only area not included in this classification is the upland area SE of the site, where the signal is poor/unlikely.
